Selected works from the exhibition 'Ultra-Avant-Garde. The Koło Klipsa Art Group and the Poznań Underground of the 1980s.
The exhibition presents the work of the legendary Poznań group Koło Klipsa, whose work was categorised as part of the 1980s new expression trend. The year 2024 marks the fortieth anniversary of the first exhibition of Koło Klipsa organised in 1984 at the Wielka 19 Gallery. The work of the group, which in its main composition consisted of: Mariusz Kruk, Wojciech Kujawski, Leszek Knaflewski and Krzysztof Markowski, will be shown at the exhibition in the context of the underground music scene of Poznań - a space of alternative circulation where avant-garde, experimental and punk music resounded as a voice of opposition to the official cultural policy of the state.
The exhibition runs from 5 April to 8 July 2024 at the National Museum in Poznań.
