The State Publishing Institute (Państwowy Instytut Wydawniczy, PIW) has received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in the Brands & Communication Design category. The international jury honoured the graphic design of the ‘Gallery of Polish Kings’ collection by Piotr Chuchla.
Red Dot is one of the world’s most recognised design competitions, organised since 1955. PIW is the first Polish publishing house to receive a Red Dot for a book design project.
Poczet Władców Polski (Gallery of Polish Rulers) is a publishing collection that not only ensures the highest scholarly standard, but also reinterprets historical biographies through contemporary editorial design. Over 7–8 years, the collection will comprise 42 volumes, each devoted to a single ruler of Poland. The series’ graphic design combines functionality with a distinctive visual language, building a symbolic bridge between past and present.
