Admittedly, one could argue that Gural, whose rhyming technique is brilliant, treats all these references very superficially, and that they are merely ornaments to his stylistic show-offs. All of this is true, but I do not believe any of the listeners expected this album to be a competent lecture on the anthropology of religion. By the way, I wonder how many of this year’s high school graduates mentioned the song ‘Złoty Róg’ (The Golden Horn) when writing their essays on ‘Fantasticalelements in Wyspiański’s Wesele (The Wedding)’.
The multicultural atmosphere is reinforced by the beats: a sampled Balkan choir features on a Jamaican-inspired backing track, while dancefloor earworms in the style of modern American productions are accompanied by the sounds of the kobza. The production was overseen by, among others, experts in rap hits and diamond records: Matheo and Donatan (remember Gang Albanii and Równonoc [Equinox]?). All this helped the album climb to number one on the OLiS chart immediately after its release.
