The The Anatomy of Curiosity consists of texts which are primarily concerned with the theme of representation. The 'curiosity' of the title forms their theoretical basis, and can be understood - in a number of different ways - as a critical attitude to a discourse which attempts to represent reality. Among other topics, he writes about authors such as Master Eckhart, Hegel, Eco, Derrida and cultural phenomena such as photography, collection, mimesis and painting.
"Both his erudition and his wide range of interests allow the author to bring together an extensive assortment of phenomena and matters associated with culture, which are then discussed in the light of two fundamental questions: is a 'faithful' linguistic representation of reality possible, and where are the boundaries of the expressibility of human experience?" (Ryszard Nycz)
In 2000, the The Anatomy of Curiosity was awarded with the very eminent Kościelski Prize.
