Lech Stangret’s book is the only scientific publication in English which covers this area of the artist’s work. It was published thanks to Culture.pl’s cooperation with the Tadeusz Kantor Foundation.
As the author states, drawing is on the same level as all the other forms of art explored by Tadeusz Kantor. Lech Stangret’s book profoundly analyzes the artist’s drawings, showing not only their equal importance, but also their influence on other displays of art, especially during the first phase of work.
The foundation, created in 1994, promotes and archives Tadeusz Kantor’s work. The chair of the foundation is Lech Stangret, a former actor of Cricot 2 theatre, closely related to Maria Stangret-Kantor, who initiated the foundation. He's written many publications on Kantor, such as Rysunek Tadeusza Kantora / Tadeusz Kantor’s Drawing and Malarski ambalaż totalnego dzieła / The Pictorial Emballage of the Total Work of Art.

The aim of the foundation is to realize Tadeusz Kantor’s idea, consisting of creating an art house (museum) in Hucisko, collecting and preserving Tadeusz Kantor and his collaborators’ works (Marta Stangret and other members of the Kraków Group), and also scientific documentation and popularization of the collection while taking good care of it.
The foundation also aids talented young artists and researchers interested in Tadeusz Kantor’s always vivacious art. It collaborates closely with the Foksal Gallery, preparing and assisting Tadeusz Kantor’s and Kraków Group’s exhibitions.
