Agata Wawryniuk's graphic novel revolutionizes the Polish comic book industry. Drowning in the fogginess of the London sky and its antagonizing pace, the artist writes and draws her own story of living on the island.
Rozmówki polsko-angielskie / Polish-English Conversations, is Agata Wawryniuk's written and illustrated account of a disillusioning stay in London. Leaving Poland to enjoy the liberty of a European Union citizen who can work in the UK, Wawryniuk experiences disappointment, dismay and regret. Her story reflects that of many other Poles and Eastern Europeans leaving for "a better life". Wawryniuk brought pen to paper, and through words and black and white images, she defines emigration, and shows its sunny and shady sides.
