A production written by Ivan Vyrypayev and directed by Łukasz Kos; premiering at the TR Warszawa on February 20th, 2004.
Ivan Vyrypayev's SNY / DREAMS at the TR (formerly the Rozmaitości Theatre), the newest production to be mounted as part of the Teren Warszawa / Terrain Warsaw project, is directed by Łukasz Kos.
Vyrypayev gained renown with the appearance of his play TLEN / OXYGEN. TR will now offer audiences an opportunity to see a production of the debut play of this twenty-nine-year-old author from Russia. DREAMS, a story of drug taking, is a study of addiction written out as a series of monologues. It proved shocking enough that after it premiered, city authorities in the author's hometown of Irkutsk closed down Vyrypayev's own Playing Space Theatre. Łukasz Kos directs this fifth production to be mounted as part of the Terrain Warsaw project. Previous productions have included Endy Walsh's DISCO PIGS, directed by Krzysztof Jaworski, UWIĘZIENI / BEDBOUND by the same author, directed by Marcin Wrona (more...), Falk Richter's ELECTRONIC CITY, directed by Redbad Klynstra, and George F. Walker's ZARYZYKUJ WSZYSTKO / RISK EVERYTHING, directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna (more...).
Ivan Vyrypayev's SNY / DREAMS, translated by Andriej Moskwin, directed by Łukasz Kos. Premiered at the TR Warszawa (formerly the Rozmaitości Theatre in Warsaw) on February 20th, 2004.
