This is a book about memory, suffering, and hatred...
This is a book about memory, suffering, and hatred. All of the main characters in these newspaper stories remember and ponder over the pain that was once inflicted on them; they are all still suffering from the injustice once done them, and they hate those whom they still treat as their greatest threat and unrelenting enemies, despite the passage of years.
"This book is an excellent study of hate speech." (Ryszard Kapuściński)
Paweł Smoleński (b. 1959) - journalist and columnist for the newspaper "Gazeta Wyborcza". Earlier he published his work in the clandestine periodicals. He has written several books and lives in Warsaw.
