Exploring the urban cityscape of downtown Warsaw you're bound to come across some of the many examples of unique and colourful mosaic art which sprang up from the 1950s to 1980s, when the artform had something of a renaissance in Poland.
However, most of the time the mosaics go unnoticed by both locals and visitors, with many in need of restoration, so Warsaw-based artist Karolina Bielawska decided to bring them back under the spotlight, with her project 'Common Points', which was realised thanks to an artistic grant from the Śródmieście District of the City of Warsaw in 2023.
The project is accompanied by a curatorial essay by Katarzyna Wąs, art historian, curator and art advisor.
