Steel and flesh become sculpture in Konrad Wyrebek's body-conscious oeuvre at the Point Zero project space in London as part of the Flesh Reality group show focusing on the exploration of the human relationship to one's body of flesh.
As evidenced in the "live sculpture" seen in the video, Wyrebek's practice is focused on the capitalist approach to the body and lifestyle consumerism of contemporary life. The idea of a "standardised" body and its ritualistic representation in the media is part of a tendency to reduce the body to a shallow physical form, bringing on an inherent manipulation. Wyrebek presents his recent works at a group show featuring contemporary artists and past representatives of the avant-garde.
Fresh Reality is on at the Point Zero Project Space in London between the 10th of May - 8th of June. See more at projectpointzero.com
