Culture.pl's video cameras visited Tykocin in the Podlasie region, used in Jan Hryniak's film as the Galician village Wielopole Skrzyńskie…
It’s 1921. A 6-year-old Tadeusz Kantor plays hide and seek with his uncle, amongst the merchants are setting up their market stalls outside the local synagogue.
“We cannot talk about Kantor by presenting only fragments of his works. We want to show a full-blooded person to the wider audience, and that’s why we refer to his childhood, which was such an inspiration for him,” explains Jan Hryniak, director of Kantor. I Shall Never Return. Tadeusz Kantor as a grown man has been reincarnated in Borys Szyc’s portrayal. “We wanted an actor with a great dose of madness, risk and credibility.”
The premiere of Kantor. I Shall Never Return is scheduled in autumn 2016.
