The museum is dedicated to the life and work of Alfons Karny, who was born in 1901 in Bialystok and worked in Warsaw. He is recognised as one of the best sculptors of the "Warsaw school" of sculpture. Karny's work is dominated by realistic depictions of famous individuals such as Nicholas Copernicus, Ignacy Paderewski, Albert Einstein and Ernest Hemingway.
The permanent exhibit is comprised of the following sections: "Portraits of Great Poles", "Sculptor's Workshop", "History of an Artist's Life", "Old and New Art from the Artist's Collection".
