The New Theatre in Kraków is a young cultural institution with a wide artistic potential, established in April 2006 by a group of young people - artists, directors, actors, theatre critics and other, who had been connected with the Avant'theatre and Theatre Auditorium (in 2003, 2004 and 2005) and the New Theatre might be considered as the effect of previous activities of those two theatres. The founding of New Theatre had one main idea behind it – to create in Kraków an artistic place made by young people and focusing mostly on modern art.
Since December 2006 the Theatre has its own space - a fully professional theatrical space with the audience, wardrobes, office, etc - located in ul. Gazowa 21. This 'home' of the New Theatre has been created mostly thanks to the engagement of the theatre's members and the financial support of private donors.
