Taipei International Book Exhibition is the largest book fair in Asia and the fourth largest in the world. It was first held in 1987, and since its second edition in 1989 it takes place at Taipei World Trade Center. In 2019, the exhibition was attended by 580,000 visitors and 735 exhibitors from 52 countries. It is targeted primarily at readers rather than publishers and publishing agents, which is why it is focused mainly on meetings with authors, cultural programme and book sales.
