Bogdan Hołownia comes from Toruń where he is a graduate of the Secondary Music School. At the beginning of the 90's he studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston in the class of the professors Ray Santisi and Laszlo Gordony.
His first important experiences in performing jazz music are connected with the Jan "Ptaszyn" Wróblewski Saxophone Quartet. Then, he worked with Janusz Muniak, Adam Kawończyk, Janusz Kozłowski, Marcin Jahr, Krzysztof Mróz, Bronek Harasiuk, Kazimierz Jonkisz.
Since 1994 he has played in the group Los Angeles Trio together with Andrzej "Bruner" Gulczyński and Józef Eliasz.
In the USA Bogdan cooperated with Dave Clark, Skipp Hadden, George Zonc, Larry Kohut, Jeff Stitely, Bronek Suchanek, Grażyna Auguścik, Jerzy Głód, Michał Urbaniak and Urszula Dudziak.
He was a laureate of the prize Grand Prix Jazz "Music Lovers" for 2002 in the category "Artist of the year".
In 2006 he founded his own record label HoBo Records.
