Grażyna Auguścik is a graduate of the State Music School in Słupsk where she was studying in the class of classical guitar. She was developing her skills while learning vocal in Krakow and Warsaw at private lessons. After completing her studies in Poland and recording her first record Sunrise Sunset in 1988 she has gone to famous American Berklee College of Music in Boston. She is a graduate of this school (1992) and she has received diploma directly from Phill Collins and All Jarreau's hands.
She made her debut as a vocalist in 1977 at the Song Festival in Toruń and then she performed in Opole (in 1979 she was awarded with the most important prize at the debut competition in Opole). In 1981 she was awarded with a prize at Student Song Festival in Cracow and at Jazz Festival "Złota Tarka" in Warsaw.
In 1988 she went to the USA where she performed with musicians and lecturers of Berklee College of Music and with Michał Urbaniak and Urszula Dudziak and also with Jim Hall, Michael Brecker and Randy Brecker, John Medeski and Patricia Barber.
Since 1994 she has lived in Chicago where she has worked with many excellent musicians. She has given concerts there, recorded her records and run her own record label. In 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006 she was appreciated as the best jazz vocalist by Jazz Forum Magazine. She has been performing only with well-known and professional musicians, with such celebrities as Patricia Barber, Paul Wertico, John Medeski, Leni Stern, Rachel Z, Urszula Dudziak, Michał Urbaniak, Eric Hochberg, John McLean, Terry Callier, Ernie Adams, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Robert Irving III, Paulinho Garcia, Bogdan Hołownia, Jarek Bester, Andrzej Jagodziński and many others. She recorded over 12 albums and two albums with Urszula Dudziak.
