Selected works from the exhibition 'Tadeusz Kantor (1915–1990): Emballage, Cricotage and Madame Jarema'.
The exhibition, organised by the Starak Family Foundation as an official event accompanying this year’s Venice Biennale, centres on Kantor’s paintings. Visitors will be able to trace its successive stages: from the Informel style that interested the artist in the late 1950s, through the emballage works of the 1960s and 1970s, to his final series of paintings, Further On, Nothing (1987-1990) and I’m Falling Like Hell (1988–1990), which offer a moving reflection on passing away.
In the section of the exhibition dedicated to Maria Jarema, alongside the artist’s iconic monotypes, visitors will be able to view the costumes she designed for Kantor’s early productions of The Cuttlefish (1956) and The Circus (1957).
The exhibition runs from 9th May to 22nd November 2026, Procuratie Vecchie, St Mark’s Square, Venice.
