Józef Kopeć (1762-1833) was a Polish officer, deported to Siberia after the fall of the Kościuszko Uprising of 1794. Kopeć was an early researcher of Kamchatka, an llustrator and a writer, whose memoirs made a deep impression on Adam Mickiewicz, among others.
