Tarasewicz is a visual artist and performance artist born in 1981 in Białystok. She is a member of Penerstwo, a forefront art group of the contemporary Polish scene. In her work, she employs carefully selected materials: leather, animal fat, paraffin, wax, clay, yeast dough, food products, and processed wood. Her main thematic area of focus is the human being, more precisely – the contemporary human being in an extreme or hazardous situation. Furthermore, the artist analyses the states of social pathology, mental illness, and of extreme pain and weariness.
