The concerts' programme includes works by outstanding Polish and Korean contemporary music composers: Witold Lutosławski, Bogusław Schaeffer, Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska, Martyna Kosecka, Magdalena Gorwa, Tadeusz Wielecki, as well as Kim Eun Sung, Kim Sung Ah and Ha Jong Tae.
Kwartludium, formed in 2002, consist of Dagna Sadkowska (violin), Michał Górczyński (clarinet, bass clarinet), Paweł Nowicki (percussion) and Piotr Nowicki (piano). The ensemble focuses on performing works of young composers created specifically for this unique instrumental line-up. Kwartludium's artistic output includes several dozen Polish and world premieres. Moreover, an important part of the group's activitiy is performing contemporary improvised music. Their repertoire also comprises graphic and intuitive compositions of the most significant representatives of the newest music, such as Cornelius Cardew, Roman Haubenstock-Ramati, Bogusław Schaeffer and Dubravko Detoni, as well as the ensemble's original projects.
The ensemble has performer at many prestigious festivals all over the world, such as Warsaw Autumn, New York's Unsound, Beijing Modern Music Festival, Daegu Contemporary Music Festival, Ensemble Europa in Cologne, Loop Festival in Brussels, Musica Viva in Lisbon, Contrasts in Lviv, Arena Festival in Riga, Musica Polonica Nova in Wrocław, Audio-Art in Kraków, Ad libitum in Warsaw, New Music Days in Gdańsk to name but a few.
In May 2023, the ensemble was awarded the Honorary Award of the Polish Composers' Union for '20 years of consistent promotion of the latest Polish and world music, documented by dozens of first performances in Poland and abroad'. The musicians will receive the award at a ceremony held in September 2023 during the 66th Warsaw Autumn International Festival of Contemporary Music. In 2022 the group was also honoured with the jubilee award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of their artistic activity.
Kwartludium's concerts in Korea are supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
The concert in Seoul is organized by the Ilshin Foundation. The concert in Daegu is organized by Daegu International Contemporary Music Festival.
