The project includes a theatrical performance titled Kantor_Tropy, directed by Katarzyna Pastuszak, with choreography by Saburo Teshigawara (Karas, Tokyo) and music by Joanna Duda and Jan Młynarski. Actors from Poland and abroad will perform in the play, including choreographer and dancer Kae Ishimoto (Japan), Anna Kalwajtys, Aleksandra Śliwińska, Agnieszka Kamińska (Amareya Theatre), Daniela Komędera, and Daisuke Tsukuda (costumes). The world premiere will be hosted in the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre, followed by performances in Cricoteca in Kraków and Theatre X in Tokyo at the Tadeusz Kantor GoEnNen Performance Festival 2015.
The project also includes creating a performance/happening Kantor_Tropy: Collage that will be composed of contemporary dance, butō, performance, modern music, and visual arts. Kantor_Tropy: Collage was directly inspired by a deep relation between the dance of Ankoku butō by Hijikata Tatsumi, a major creator of Japanese avant-garde, and the aesthetic concepts and art of Tadeusz Kantor. The performance/happening will be attended by Japanese butō dancers Kawamoto Yuko and Ishimoto Kae, as well as figures from the art world, such as visual artist and film director Joanna Zastróżna and artists of the Amareya Theatre & Guests.
