The Czech writer, poet and politician, who passed away on the 18th of December, 2011 spoke with Miloslav Petrusek about his career as a writer and his late debut as a filmmaker part of a project dedicated to Zygmunt Baumann, produced earlier this year.
The film is an excerpt from "Lawnswood Gardens" - a 53-minute film portrait of Zygmunt Bauman, a major representative of Polish intellectual thought. The main body of the film is based on Anna Zeidler-Janiszewska's brief visit to the Professor's home at Lanswood Gardens in Leeds in the spring of 2010. The film includes archive materials and other interviews with major thinkers of the past century.
The film premiered in the autumn of 2011. It was directed by Paweł Kuczyński and produced with the support of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the National Centre for Culture and ZAiKS.
