On grounds covering almost 20 hectares, historic rural architecture has been preserved, divided into sectors which present kinds of constructions typical of specific ethnic groups of the Sacz region: the Lacki gorale (highlanders), the Lachs of Sacz, the Pogorzani, the Western Lemkos and the Carpathian Roma. There are both poor village cottages and the country estates of the rich, which include houses as well as agricultural and crafts-related buildings. The interiors of the cottages and country estates contain furniture and equipment used in the home, as well as tools used in the various crafts. A seventeenth-century manor house from Rdzawa, near Bochnia, has also been brought to the open-air ethnographic museum. In it, late eighteenth-century polychrome wall paintings have been preserved. Also on display is a permanent exhibition of folk costumes of the Sacz Lachs.
