The synagogue dates back to 1746 and was restored during the years 1971-1982 to repair damage sustained during the Second World War. It was then adapted for use as a museum, and now holds a collections of Judaica, including synagogue carpets, eighteenth and nineteenth century men's head coverings and silver vessels used during religious services. Some of the most valuable exhibits are the scrolls of the Torah and the Book of Ester, gifts from Jakub MŸller, ŽmigrŽ from Nowy Sacz.
