The Polish documentary short was among six films that received honourable mentions from the Sundance Jury at the Sundance film festival
The jury of the Sundance Film Festival handed out awards for the best pictures in the short film programme on January 25, 2011. The American Jury Prize was awarded to Matt Piedmont for Brick Novax Part 1 and Brick Novax part 2 and the international Jury prize went to Australia's Ariel Kleiman's Deeper Than Yesterday.
The Jury also handed out Honourable Mentions for six international productions, including Out of Reach/ Poza zasięgiem by Polish director Jakub Stożek. The short documentary film is an intimate portrayal of Karolina and Klaudia, two teenage sisters who work to re-establish a relationship with their estranged mother, only to meet with disillusionment. In 2010, the film won the Golden Dragon award for Best Short Film at the 50th Kraków Film Festival. All the winners in the Short Film section will be honoured again at the main awards ceremony on January 30.
