The hero of The Trap is a great writer living in Prague, unnerved by fears and premonitions of the future tragedies of twentieth-century totalitarianism. The composer was inspired by one of the most famous plays by Tadeusz Różewicz , The Trap, in turn inspired by the life and works of Franz Kafka.
Zygmunt Krauze is a composer, pianist and promoter of contemporary music deserved (the founder and Music Workshop team manager). He has composed a number of operatic works, including Stars and Ivona, Princess of Burgundy. The Libretto has been prepared in cooperation with Grzegorz Jarzyna.
Pułapka / The Trap premieres on the 17th December, 2011 at the Wrocław Opera, with a repeat performance on the 18th Decmeber.
