The Misunderstanding was written in 1944 by the French Nobel Laureate Albert Camus.
"This is a sad and dark play. It speaks about being burned out, about what the war did to people. On the surface everything within them seemed just the same but their core values had actually crumbled" – says the artist.
Actors from Buryatia worked with the Polish film director in his home conservatory located in Laski. Zanussi was quoted in describing the novelty of this opportunity for Russian artists..
"For people from the East this is a special experience because they have never encountered anything like this. I take them around Warsaw myself. If I'm having guests over, I introduce them. This gives our theater a more human element."
Currently in post-production and scheduled to be released in the autumn as well is Krzysztof Zanussi's latest film Obce ciało (Foreign Body).
