According to The World Geography, these 12 towers are significantly different from all other towers, and thus, preferred by many photographers and tourists. First place winner is the Ivy Tower in Belgium, while the second place went for Italy’s Guinigi Tower.
The Ciechanów Water Tower in Poland is a hyperboloid structure, using hyperboloid geometry to maximize structural strength with minimum use of material. It was built in 1972 by Jerzy Michał Boguslawsk. The 41 year-old tower stands at the highest point in the city of Ciechanów, leaving behind famous towers from the U.S., France, Japan, Thailand and Canada.
Even though the tower is currently out of use, there are plans to open a restaurant and an observation platform. According to Boguslawsk, the best solution would be to create an educational center in the tower, under the name "Szalonej Wieży Matematyków (Crazy Tower Mathematicians)" and promote math .
