The Wrocław Good Book Promotion is an event where publishers, writers and bookworms can truly celebrate. This year's edition will be accompanied by exhibitions, concerts and meetings with the finalists of the Angelus Central European Literature Award
From December 2 to 5 Wroclaw turns into the capital of literature. The historic interiors of the Museum of Architecture, will host publishers from all over Poland and Ukraine. In addition to the whole literature theme, there will be features such as exhibitions and special book sales.
Several meetings with authors and literary evenings will be held. BOSZ publishing house organized a photo exhibition from the premiere album Art Color Ballet, presenting originally painted, half-naked bodies of the dancers from the Kraków ballet group. Format publisher presents "Chopin on a Toy Piano" - an exhibition of miniature pianos, harpsichords, spinets, among which one can admire those which took part in a recording session of the album Small Instruments Play Chopin. Both of the happenings take place at the BWA Awangarda Gallery. Agora Cultural Centre presents Jacek Kołodziejski's photo installation, whose Uncomfortable project relies on the suggestion, that human senses are extremely sensitive to any change, deviation from the "norm" standards, and the way of perceiving one's own body, although it is an integral part of our gender identity it is only a cultural construct.
The event suites even the youngest participants: Portal CzasDzieci.pl prepared a variety of activities, including reading and artistic workshops, "chocolate education", frolic fun in the Land of Imagination, games with "Miffy the Rabbit" and travels to the world of cavemen.
Traditionally, during the first day of the fair, winners of the "Fredro's Pen" Contest for the Best Book of the Year, will be awarded. However, throughout the festival, in the Angelus section, there will be meetings with finalists of this year's Angelus Central European Literature Award competition, including: Zbigniew Kruszyński, Wojciech Albiński or Antoni Libera. This is the most important prize in the field of prose for the writers coming from Central Europe who, in their books, deal with the most important issues of our times, enticing afterthoughts, deepening our knowledge about the worlds of other cultures. The ceremony gala, during which the jury will announce the winner, will take place at the Capitol Music Theatre on December 4, 2010 in Wrocław.
