The series of events will be hosted in Istanbul as part of the drama festival in October 2014. Heart of Gold will be performed various times on 16, 17 and 20 October 2014 at various locations troughout the city (Detailed programme can be seen below). There will be 30-minute workshops held after each performance.
The main performance of the project, Heart of Gold, is a play by M. Kamińska-Sobczyk and tells the story of Jasiek who sets out on a journey to the end of the world in search of happiness. The play is based on various themes from nine Polish folk tales; each scene illustrates the essence of one tale and the overarching main theme of the play is represented by the road and the act of wandering.
Heart of Gold has previously received "Best Animation" award at the First International Festival of Puppet Theatres "Katowice - Children" in June 200 and "Best Art Direction" award at the International Arts Festival for Children in Subotica (Serbia) in September 2002.
