Beethoven Academy Orchestra
The Beethoven Academy Orchestra performs in Munich's Kunstlerhaus for an Inauguration concert marking the Polish Presidency of the EU Council
The concert forms a part of the "Nie tylko Szymanowski"/ "Not Only Szymanowski" series – the title project of the Karol Szymanowski Music Assosciation that seeks to promote Polish music across the globe through a series of concerts featruing the best contemporary Polish music groups.
The Karol Szymanowski Music Assosciation has been a patron of the composer for 34 years. His works play an instrumental role in the new concert series which takes place in a selection of global cities.
The Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Poland's youngest symphony orchestra, is comprised of the best graduates of European music schools, including the Krakow Music Academy, Hochschule Für Musik Und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, the Royal Music Conservatoire in Brussels, the Paris Conservatoire International de Musique w Paryżu and the Universität für Musik und darstellen Kunst in Graz. It was formed in 2003.
The 'Towarzystwa Muzycznego im. Karola Szymanowskiego' / 'Karol Szymanowski Music Assosciation' was founded in 1977 with the aim of promoting the person and works of Karol Szymanowski. Its members include such known persons of the music world as Krzysztof Zanussi, Artur Rubinstein, Andrzej Bachleda, Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki and Sir Simon Rattle.
