The National Library organised a screening tour of the 1918 film "Mania. Historia pracownicy fabryki papierosów" / "Mania. The story of a cigarette factory worker", starring the world-famous Polish-born actress Pola Negri.
The Wrocław Chamber Orchestra 'Leopoldinum' performed music composed by Jerzy Maksymiuk especially for the picture. Considered missing for years, the film was recently found and reconstructed. It is to tour with showings in five European capitals: Paris, Madrid, London, Kiev and Berlin. The production of nearly a hundred years is also an excellent example of European cooperation - the picture was produced in Germany, the main role was played by a Polish actress and the film's director was Hungarian Eugen Illes.
In Ukraine, the screening was part of the Molodist Film Festival in Kiev.
