For several years, Polish theatre companies have been invited to each edition of the Bharat Rang Mahotsav. In 2016, the Indian viewers had the opportunity to see Sońka, a lyrical drama based on Ignacy Karpowicz's novel, directed by Agnieszka Korytkowska-Mazur.
The festival organizers ensure that the foreign shows are presented not only in India's capital. Therefore, the first staging of the Polish play took place in Bhubaneswar city, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha, on 12th February, while on 15th February it was presented at the prestigious National School of Drama in New Delhi.

Sońka is a story that takes place on the Polish-Belarusian borderland, a war romance without any sentimentalities. An affair between an SS officer, whom the war brought to a remote village, and a local girl, changed the latter's life once and for all.
The Bharat Rang Mahotsav is an event organized by the National School of Drama in New Delhi. Each year the festival hosts Polish shows. In 2015, the organizers invited the Dada von Bzdülöw Theatre from Gdańsk, who presented their dance performance Play It, Or 17 Dances About Something. The show was enthusiastically received by the audience and received good reviews in the Indian press.
