Karol Szymanowski
Two hundred kilometres from the Polish composer's birthplace, a concert dedicated to the music of Karol Szymanowski is set to feature Polish and Ukrainian performers in a symbolic linking of the two nations
The concert will be performed in one of the most prestigious music halls in Kiev- the Concert Hall of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. This is the regular performance area of the National Symphonic Orchestra of Ukraine, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Ukraine National Philharmonic, as well as numerous musical groups and soloists -from both Ukraine and abroad.

Roman Rewakowicz – conductor
Pianist Jan Krzysztof Broja studied in both Germany and Poland and has since performed in many European countries, the US and Japan. He collaborated on Roman Polanski's Oscar-winning film, 'The Pianist' and played a solo part in Andrzej Wajda's new film 'Tatarak'. Broja's work also appears in theatre, most recently illustrated by his collaboration with Krzysztofa Warlikowski for a Warsaw performance of 'Apollonia'. Having performed extensively abroad, and released three CDs to date, he was nominated for a Grammy award in 2010.
Roman Rewakowicz has worked with chamber and symphonic orchestras in Ukraine, Lwow, Warsaw and Minsk. He leads the 'Żurawli' male choir, which specialises in Ukrainian and Byzantine music. He also leads the 'Cappella Corale Varsaviana' choir, which has many film credits to their name, having performed music by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, Michał Lorenc, and Stanisław Syrewicz. The choir took part in the beatification mass for the late Pope John Paul II. He is the co-founder of the 'Kontrasty' / 'Contrasts' music festival. In 2010 he collaborated with pianist Jan Krzysztof Broja and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the Year of Chopin musical concerts in the Ukraine. Rewakowicz is the founder and president of the 'Pro Musica Viva' foundation.
