The aim of the project is to capture the image of today's Praga Północ district in Warsaw - an area of much historical significance and considerable change since the end of World War II
"Praga Perpetuated" / "Praga Utrwalona" is a collaboration between the MAKATA art association and Folwark's Eliza Rudzińska and Magdalena Rowińska, along with students of the Fine Arts Academy under the direction of Dr. Krzysztof Jabłonowska, local youths from the area and a number of professional photographers including Edyta Foryś, Magdalena Chodkowska, Julien Grenier, Bernard Branecki, Wojciech Mierczyk, Bartłomiej Ryży. The culture.pl website is also a patron of the endeavor.
The diverse team of people involved in the project have worked to shape a well-rounded vision of Praga, its specific atmosphere and the dynamic change taking place all over the right bank of central Warsaw. Documentation for the series took place over a period of three months.
The show opens with a big event on December 13 at 19:00, wrapping the first phase of the project, which is planned to run through the end of the year. In 2011 the collection will be transferred to the collection of the Praga Museum, currently under construction.
