Peter and the Wolf, the famous symphonic fairytale by Sergei Prokofiev is, as the artists note, a work that perfectly represents Susan Sontag's definition of classical art as set out in her Notes on Camp. Koncentrat says:
It is beautiful, easy to understand, without unnecessary sub-context, and does not try to amaze with expressions different from those included in the aesthetics, composition style and virtuosity of the performance. What happens if we join this narration with qualities from contemporary art? What will be the result of the clash between these two disconnected cultural currents?
The first stage of the presentation will be in Vilnius. From 28th September to 3th October, daily rehearsals at Low Air dance studio will prepare the artists for work-in-progress shows on 3rd and 4th October at 5pm on the Green Bridge as a part of the Vilnius International Theatre Festival Sirenos. After that, Tartu in Estonia will host the show on 5th and 6th October, in co-operation with the Linnafestival UIT. The cast includes: Paulius Markevicius, Žana Gončiar, Vilma Pitrinaite, Linda Vaher, Jaan Ulst and Barbara Lehtna.
The project is supported by Culture.pl.
