Inspired by the soundtracks of old Polish animated films, the instruments used in the group’s sonic experiments feature an ever-expanding array of instruments, children’s toys, and strange musical inventions. Małe Instrumenty’s music reveals the unique colors of sound, from the beautiful to the surprising to the insightful.
Romanczuk and Small Instruments will be presented on Friday 9th of January in the MIT Museum. This is Pawel Romanczuk’s first performance in the US and it is co-sponsored by Culture.pl and CAST; it will be presented at the MIT Museum’s Second Fridays program. During his stay, Romanczuk will work with MIT students. Every participant will try to build a new instrument that will take part in the final concert, which is open to the public. The musician would like to encourage American students to experiment with uncommon sources of sounds.
The events is organized by Project Campus, an initiative of the Adam Mickiewicz Institution, aiming to foster collaboration and exchange of knowledge between Polish and American Universities.
