This friendly menagerie of beasts, wild and tamed animals constitutes a universal and inexhaustible motif and recurring theme in art throughout history. The exhibition continues the tradition, using animals to serve as metaphors and symbols - they are grotesque, poetic, realistic and abstract
Collective artistic statement on the show:
(Animals) share our joy, friendship but also fear and pain. They are often dependent on us, and our humanity is measured by the way we treat them. We transfer a lot of our traits to them, we treat them in a symbolic way. They populate our legends, myths and proverbs. We don't live alone - our younger brothers are an integral part of our world.
