Wrocław band Mikromusic performs at one of the biggest jazz festivals in the world
Mikromusic was founded by Natalia Grosiak and David Korbaczyński in 2002. It is one of the most interesting bands on the Polish jazz scene today. The enigmatic voice of the singer Natalia Grosiak is a genuine hallmark of the band. Distinguished sound, their music compromises many styles, however is mainly based on jazz, hip-hop and pop. Their debut album "Dobrze jest" / "It is good" was released in February 2006.
At the Bohemia Jazz Fest, Mikromusic presents music from their latest album "Sovę". Its their third album which was released on the 11th of October 2010 and has already received the WARTO prize, awarded by the Gazeta Wyborcza.
Established in 2005, the Bohemia Jazz Fest is one of Europe's largest summer music festivals. Its creator and the artistic director of the entire project is Czech jazz guitarist Rudy Linka. At first the idea was primarily to promote the declining popularity of Czech music. Now the idea is still the same and combines the best of two worlds - the visual splendor of historic Central Europe with modern jazz. Linka turned town squares throughout the Czech Republic into concert sites featuring some of the biggest names in jazz. Throughout seven cities last year's festival attracted more than 70,000 jazz fans.
Mikromusic performs at the Bohemia Jazz Fest in the town of Prachatice, Czech Republic, on the 22nd of July 2011 at 20:30.
