The play will be shown twice during the festival on 24 June 2015. Apart from Lekcje milosci (Love Lessons) from Łódź, the Russian audience will be able to watch 25 other plays from Serbia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Poland, and Russia. Other festival attractions include film screenings, a book fair, drama readings, a review of the Centre for Contemporary Drama productions, and performances prepared by the actors of the Kolyada Theatre.
Irina Waskowska’s Love Lessons tells the stories of two families: Larisa and her mother, and Masha, her husband and mother. The audience will witness difficult and even dysfunctional relations that rule both families’ lives. The performance had its first preview in the Teatr Stefana Jaracza in Lodz in March 2015.
The last time the Teatr Stefana Jaracza took part in the Kolyada Festival, its actress Agnieszka Skrzpyczak won the best actress award for her role in Natasha’s Dream directed by Nikolai Kolyada. A photo report from the Yekaterinburg visit will be posted on the Facebook profile of the theatre.
