Krzysztof Bizio is a contemporary Polish dramatist, author of short stories, novels and screenplays (including co-writing screenplay for Andrzej Wajda's famous film "Katyń"). The greatest popularity, however, was brought to him by his dramas: "Let's Talk about Life and Death" (debut in 2001), "Toxins", "Lamentation" and "Garbage".
Premiere of "Toxins" was held in 2002 and since then the play has been continuously attracting the interest of the audience. It consists of five episodes, four of which in turn focus on murder, buying, love and loneliness, the fifth being a conclusion. Each episode is a confrontation of an older man with a younger, each of the parts shows how the "toxins" are passed from one generation to the next. Krzysztof Bizio attempts to show the mechanism of spreading the evil and its constant returning, he raises questions about the moral condition of modern society.
In 2003 Krzysztof Bizio's "Toxins" received the Silver Boat - prize awarded by the Friends of Łódź City Society for the best performance of the season. The play was also presented, among others, during the Polish-German Year in Berlin and at the International Contemporary Drama Festival in Budapest.
In 2014, "Toxins" had its premiere in Korea. The drama was staged at the Jongbo Theater, located on Daehak-ro Street in Seoul. Daehak-ro is a lively area, popular among the younger generation, full of theatres, clubs, cinemas and cultural institutions.
