The program of the 6th edition of the International Theatre Schools Festival MFST ITSelF includes not only final degree shows, which are performed by various theatre schools invited and admitted to our competition, but also numerous associated events, such as plays by fringe theatres, meetings with theatre and cinema celebrities, as well as – for the first time in the history of MFST ITSelF – open theatre workshops dedicated to both, professionals and amateurs.
In order to meet the expectations of our audience, we have decided that this year all the performances in the competition will be provided with Polish subtitles.
The prestige and the scope of the Festival increase with each and every edition. Our initiative is supported by political and cultural celebrities. We also cooperate with leading Warsaw theatres. In the previous editions we had the honour to host over 40 theatre schools from different continents, a number of guests from all over the world, as well as thousands of spectators. The shows performed during the Festival are always very popular with the audience.
The main objective of MFST ITSelF is to promote theatre culture and young talents of the stage, share experiences, bring cultures closer by bringing artists together, as well as to present Poland as a country which supports culture and appreciates its influence on the development of the society.
The strength of participants' youth, talent and enthusiasm make each edition of the Festival unique. MFST ITSelF is a well-known festival recognized by organizers of similar competing European shows. It is also one of the largest and most prestigious events of that kind in the whole world.
The Festival is organized by the Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Capital City of Warsaw. The Honorary Patronage was taken by Bronisław Komorowski, the President of the Republic of Poland.
