For 35 years the Poznań-based Polish Dance Theatre has remained faithful to its mission of promoting the art of dancing and dissemination of ballet culture throughout the country and abroad.
Adding an educational perspective to its wide spectrum of interests, the theatre began organising International Contemporary Dance Workshops in 1994, and International Dance Theatres Festival in 2004. The Festival which takes place in August is part of a large dance feast "Dancing Poznań". Companies from all over the world represent new ways of thinking about dance theatre. During last year’s edition of the Festival over 20 performances were presented on three stages under a common motto: "Chopin and his friends. Inspirations".
