In July 2015, Artur Żmijewski and Paweł Althamer spent 10 days in Kyoto, taking part in workshops and working with young Japanese artists. Topics that were the inspiration for their work were: nature, history, society and morality. Their visit to Japan turned out to be so interesting and inspiring, that they decided to continue the project.
The exhibition House of Day, House of Night featured Paweł Althamer and Artura Żmijewski's film project, as well as works of Japanese artists created as a result of workshops held in July. Three Japanese artists, memmebrs of the OLTA group, met with Artur Żmijewski in Warsaw, where further workshops and artistic actions were carried out. The exhibition in Kyoto was accompanied by evening seminars, performances and artistic experiments titled Living Academy.
