During the European Culture Congress there will be presented the winning projects selected in the Art for Social Change competition. The National Audiovisual Institute invited Polish and foreign NGOs to participate in the competition. Presentations of their artistic activity should promote the ECC slogan “Art for Social Change”.
“Art Training” is an invitation to participate in an artist-created urban game, the instructions for which will pop up all over Wrocław during the European Culture Congress in the form of posters and postcards. The instructions have been prepared by a group of four Polish and Ukrainian artists (Nikita Kadan, Zhanna Kadyrova, Katarzyna Krakowiak, and Janek Simon).

„The House of Change” is a series of artistic events put within a significant social context. They will take place in Dzieduszycki Family Mansjon in Wrocław. Project focused on providing a connection between the artistic work and the world is organized by Krytyka Polityczna (Political Critique).

“Legs” and a performance called “Crazy Dance“ are eventes which will be presented by The Radość Życia Association. “Legs“ is the new piece by Dawka Energii Theatre-Dance Company. The group was established with the ambitious objective of introducing Poland to community dance. In doing so this bought together different social groups of varying ability, who may never have danced before, to create pieces of contemporary dance and physical theatre.

“Sweeten Your Culture” project was launched by the Starter Association in 2008 during the Poznań of Poets Festival. As an homage to futurist poet Antoni Janaszek, participating bakeries wrapped their pastries and cookies in paper covered with his poetry and drawings inspired by his work. The project will be reprised this year in Wrocław, with a new theme specially designed for the Congress.

The „Sound education and social change“ refers to a previous project of the Foundation for Art and Technology. . The main aim of the initiative was to enable its participants, namely children from socially disadvantaged environments, to encounter with traditional folk music, as well as with an electro-acoustic and electronic music improvisation. At the European Culture Congress prepared a series of workshops and a concert.

„Radio Fish” is a project run jointly by the Revers Centre for Culture and a Belarusian youth association Next Stop-New Life. Journalists from the Belarusian Section of the Polish Radio’s External Service and from the Belarusian Radio Fish will be relaying the events of the European Culture Congress to their audiences. Each crew will prepare eight broadcasts in Belarusian.

"In a drawer" is a show made by Poddańczy Theatre for the youngest audience in which children are introduced to the world of theatre with a story about a magical line that separates two worlds: Here and There, the real world and the theatre world.
