The concert at the Kraków Philharmonic is inspired by the words of American poet Emily Dickinson: "Love is all that there is".
The event's performers include: The Orchestra of the Kraków Philharmonic and its Choir conducted by Paweł Przytocki, along with vocalist Iwona Socha and the Motion Trio group. The repertoire features works composed by Fryderyk Chopin, Franz Liszt, Giuseppe Verdi, as well as George Gershwin, John Lennon, Leonard Bernstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The evening also includes poetry recitals by well-known Polish theatre actors and an auction of items donated by writers, actors, directors and other major entertainment personalities - such as Anna Polony, Jerzy Trela, Wisława Szymborska, Anna Dymna and Anna Szałapak. One of the prizesis a 1964 Osa scooter.
Proceeds from the concert and auction will be dedicated to funding the care of Joanna Ilnicka, a harfist and vocalist with the Kraków Philharmonic and Awa Ciepiela, an actress with the National Stary Theatre - both musicians have been battling serious illnesses. The concert begins at 17:00 on February 13, 2011.
