The Katowice Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra, known as NOSPR, performs with Evgeni Bozhanov and Daniil Trifonov in Katowice and Warsaw. Trifonov and Bozhanov are the third- and fourth-prize winners, respectively, of the 16th International Chopin Competition
On December 19, the
NOSPR concert hall in Katowice hosts Evgeni Bozhanov performing a full programme of works by Chopin, including several Mazurkas (Op. 30, 40 & 50), the Polonaise in A-flat Op. 53 and Polonaise-Faintaisie in A-flat Op. 61, Impromptu G-flat and Barkarola in F-sharp major. The second half will be devoted to the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11, with Bozhanov accompanied by the Orchestra.
On December 20, Polish Radio's Witold Lutosławski Concert Hall hosts Daniil Trifonov performing with the Orchestra under the direction of
Jacek Kaspszyk. The concert honours Polish radio's 85th anniverary, along with the 75th anniversary of the Katowice Polish Radio National Symphony Orchestra. Works by Sergei Prokofiev
Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and
Fryderyk Chopin are on the programme.
