An invigorating multimedia production paid homage to the life and work of Professor Bogusław Schaeffer
"Era Schaeffera" / "The Era of Schaeffer" was a gala of improvisation and a meeting between artists of theatre, music, dance and visual arts. The collage of these encounters made up a true festival of the imagination.
"Era Schaeffera" / "The Era of Schaeffer" festival was initiated by the Fundacja Przyjaciół Sztuk AUREA PORTA foundation. The first two editions of the festival were a great success, and the festival's showing in Edinburgh brought the event many enthusiastic reviews and invitations from all over the world.
Named by director Maciej Sobociński "a gala of improvisation", the event impressed past audiences with the scale and range of multimedia employed. Its creativity and quality of performance were impressive, and it surprised viewers with a harmony that prevailed over the seemingly chaotic concept of a collage. A tribute to a rare and orignal talent - this performance created a chance to immerse oneself in a breathtaking and overwhelming personality of Schaeffer, which circumscribes all senses.
The Madrid "Era Schaeffera" / "The Era of Schaeffer" performance was directed by Maciej Sobociński, music played by the Polish orchestra Orkiestra Amadeus PR conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal and the Olga Szawajgier quartet (Michał Urbaniak, Łukasz Poprawski, Jorgos Skolias). The actors on stage included Marek Frąckowiak, Waldemar Obłozy, Agnieszka Wielgosz, Sean Palmer,
