Marek Lechki, Anna Ferens and Jerzy Skolimowski are among the winners at this year's New York Film Festival
Each year the festival presents the most intriguing Polish films of the past year to American audiences. Highlights of the festival included a retrospective of documentaries by Krzysztof Kieślowski, the premiere of Janusz Majewski's Rite of Passage 1947, along with many fresh feature and documentary films from new directors enjoying their US premieres at the festival.
The festival opened with the Kieślowski documentary series, introduced by Professor Annette Insdorf, Director of Undergraduate Film Studies at Columbia University and author of Double Lives, Second Chances: The Cinema of Krzysztof Kieslowski. The festival closed on May 8 with the announcement of the winners of the festival's Beyond Borders Awards.

The annual New York Polish Film Festival offers hundreds of viewers in the NYC area the chance to enjoy Polish cinema with English subtitles, along with the rare opportunity to interact with the filmmakers themselves. Screenings take place at the Anthology Film Archives Cinema (32 Second Avenue).
The NYPFF showcases acclaimed features, shorts, and documentaries, all created by distinguished Polish filmmakers, both new and long-established. NYPFF is the largest festival promoting and presenting Polish films on the East Coast.
