Antonia Lloyd-Jones is a translator of Polish literature. Since 2001 she has translated many authors into English such as Paweł Huelle, Olga Tokarczuk, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Zygmunt Miłoszewski, Witold Szabłowski and Jacek Dehnel. At this event she will be reading excerpts from various genres of Polish literature that are available in English.
According to the Institute of Polish Culture in London, "here's an opportunity to find out or to explain that besides the tragic tales of bravery in war, Polish literature is full of great stories, memorable characters, witty jokes, and beautiful writing"; the organizers stress that this event is a wonderful opportunity to take part in modern British-Polish culture.
Antonia Lloyd-Jones lives and works in London. She is the two-time winner of the "Found in Translation" award (in 2009 and 2013).
